Top 5 Things to Know About COVID-19 and Utilities

  1. All Kentucky utility providers have been ordered to stop disconnections for non-payment and waive assessment of late fees.
  2. All Kentucky utility providers have also voluntarily agreed to temporarily suspend disconnections.
  3. Once the temporary suspension period ends, you will still have to pay for utility services provided during this time.
  4. When payments become due, if you are still struggling financially, you can request a payment plan. Providers are encouraged to be flexible.
  5. Landlords are never allowed to turn off your utilities or change the locks to force you out of your home.
