  1. If you are receiving a check for SSI, disability, or retirement, you should continue to receive it.
  2. SSA offices are currently closed to the public. If you have an existing appointment, SSA will call you to reschedule.
  3. Beware of scams: SSA will only call you to reschedule an appointment. Otherwise they will communicate by mail.
  4. If you have an upcoming administrative hearing, the courthouse is closed. Your hearing may be held over the phone.
  5. While offices are closed, you can call 1-800-772-1213. You can also set up an online account at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount.
